A very large and impressive fusee dial clock. The 23 inch diameter solid mahogany case is of traditional pegged construction, with side and base inspection doors. The heavy brass bezel covers an 18 inch white enamel dial that is signed by the maker, Stockall & Marples & Co. Ltd. London. It has a heavily engineered 8 day chain driven fusee movement, with internally counterpoised hour and minute hands. The makers are listed as working in Clerkenwell and were makers of industrial clocks.
