Rare 3 High 18th Century Cartel Clock

An imposing and impressive, very original cartel clock. The carved wood case, has its original gesso and gilt finish. The tradition form is of a ho-ho bird above a Rococo style case and an engraved 10 diameter silvered dial with a mock pendulum. The 8 day verge movement has A shaped plates and a bob pendulum. The dial is engraved by the maker Edward Hunsdon Jnr. of Chelmsford. An Edward Hunsdon is listed as working in 1730-1782. A truly amazing piece in fantastic original condition.
