An unusual Mid 19th Century clock in the form of a clock mounted mounted on the back of an elephant. The case, made of brass, depicts an Indian elephant in ceremonial dress carrying an oriental style pierced basket containing a clock,which stands on a rouge marble base. The casting is silver plated and high-lighted in brass. The clock has an enamel dial with a French 8 day movement with a cylinder platform
