A good sized French bell striking mantel clock, that was originally made for the British market. It has a waisted shape case, having tortoiseshell inlaid with brass and a glass panel to see the sunburst pendulum swing. The embossed brass dial is behind a convex glass and has enamel numeral plaques, It has an 8 day, hour and half hour bell striking movement, stamped by the maker Japy Frere.
