Late Georgian Oak Longcase Clock

A well proportioned longcase clock, in a solid light figured oak case. It has a flat top hood, with a long door and a shaped plinth base. The finely painted 12" square dial has a subsidiary seconds dial, and fine steel hands. It has an 8 day movement, with lead weights and sounds the hours and halves on the hours . The dial is signed by the original maker Wm Clarke Cerne who is listed as working in 1824 .
