Small 18th Century Style Mantel Clock

A small, Louis XVth style mantel having a polished brass case with embossed acanthus decoration, scroll side handles and blind fret side grills. The small 3 diameter convex enamel dial has blue numerals and fine pierced and engraved filigree hands.

The 8 day locking plate movement strikes the hours and halves on a gong, it is stamped D.C. and is attributed to the well known carriage clock maker Droucourt of Paris.
