French Ebonised, Bronze and Gilt Mantel Clock

An unusual French mantel clock. It has an ebonised central section, mounted by a bronze sculpture of a young grape picker. The base, sides and top are mounted by gesso gilt mouldings. It has a white enamel dial, which is signed by the original well known retailer, Dent of Paris (and London). - suppliers of the clock at The Palace of Westminster (Big Ben).
The clock has an 8 day movement that strikes the hours and halves on a gong,has a silk suspension and is again signed Dent.
