Small Scottish Mahogany Longcase Clock (Scotland, c. 1790)

A small, well proportioned Scottish longcase clock, dating to the late 18th Century. It has a swan neck hood, with Corinthian capital side columns, side windows, a long door with a matching crossbanding throughout the case. The brass dial has a silvered chapter ring, a subsidiary seconds dial and a date window and is signed in the arch by the maker Allen Fowlds of Kilmarnock. It has an 8 day movement that sounds the hours on a bell. Allan Fowlds is listed as born in 1719, and died in 1799.

Current Condition
