Small Mahogany Bracket Clock (Germany, 1926)

A small mahogany bracket clock in the late 18th Century style made in George V period. The presentation plaque on the reverse refers to 1910-1926, so presumably the clock was presented as new in 1926. It has a break arched dome top, slender turned side pillars with brass capitals, brass bun feet and a brass bezel with a tick bevel edge glass. The silvered dial has a Roman numeral chapter ring and a rise and fall regulation dial within the arch. It has an 8 day pendulum movement that strikes the hours and halves on a gong. The presentation plaque refers to "The old gang" and could well be a reference to the suffragette movement.
