Scottish Flame Mahogany Longcase Clock (Scotland, c. 1825)


A very original George IV period Scottish longcase clock in a stunning flame mahogany case. It has a traditional dome top case with a circular white enamel dial. The hood has corner inlays and round side windows. The case has a long door, which is crossbanded and has flame veneers, a matching base and reeded 1/4 corner columns. The dial has subsidiary seconds and date dials and is signed by the maker David King of Montrose. It has an 8 day movement that sounds the hours on a bell. David King is listed as working 1821-51.

Current Condition
